Lawrence Yee

Larry Yee is a partner in O'Melveny's China practice and divides his time between our Shanghai and Hong Kong offices. He has broad experience in international investment and financing matters, including capital markets, project financing, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and debt restructuring. Larry has lived in Asia for more than 20 years and is qualified to practice law in New York, Hong Kong, and England and Wales. Prior to joining O'Melveny, he was a partner at another major international law firm in Hong Kong for more than a decade.
During his 24 years of legal practice, Larry has represented clients in a wide range of transactions, including global initial public offerings and dual listings; the corporate reorganization of a client in Hong Kong involving the restructuring of debts of US$2.7 billion; representing a bank syndicate in the US$475 million project financing for a coal mine project in Shanxi Province; a US$4 billion debt restructuring for a client; and numerous cross-border direct investment projects and private placements of securities. He has represented developers, lenders and equity investors in infrastructure projects in China, including power plants, oil refineries, toll roads and bridges, and port facilities. His experience also includes investment funds, commercial paper programs, and tax planning.
Prior to entering law school, Larry taught at Tunghai University in Taiwan and produced and directed documentary films in New York City.
