2026 Denver Water Law Symposium: Oil & Water: Energy Across the West

O’Melveny counsel Zach Smith will be a guest speaker at the 18th annual symposium held in Denver with a 2026 theme of, “Water & Energy Across the West.” The event aims to bring together an “interdisciplinary group of experts,” and features four panel discussions and two keynote speeches focused on pressing issues at the intersection of water, energy, and environmental sustainability in Colorado and the West. Smith’s panel will address the complexities of produced water, including its management, reuse, and regulatory framework in a session titled, “Produce, Reuse, Recycle: The Landscape of Produced Water.”

Zach Smith counsels water users through their most pressing water supply challenges and has extensive experience with California and Colorado’s water markets, the future of the Colorado River, California’s Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), and US Bureau of Reclamation issues.
