NYU Labor Center Zoom Webinar: Workplace DEI Issues and Challenges after Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA)
February 13, 2024
O’Melveny partner Tristan Morales joined a panel of experts for the NYU Labor Center Webinar to discuss practical considerations and risk mitigation for employer and other DEI initiatives after the Supreme Court ruling in SFFA. “Although SFFA applied to college admissions, the decision is likely to affect employment discrimination law, with claims of reverse discrimination under Title VI, VII, and IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended working their way through the courts.” The event speakers are selected from a variety of backgrounds to promote a balanced discussion incorporating management, employee, and policymaker perspectives.
Morales is a leader of O’Melveny’s DE&I and Affirmative Action Task Force, as well as holding extensive experience advising employers on challenges to corporate diversity programs. He is also trusted counsel on matters arising under Section 1981 and Title VII, including with emerging challenges to corporate diversity programs for employees and suppliers, and is a past Pathfinder of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD).
