HSU Untied Podcast: Interview with Billy Abbott

O’Melveny partner Billy Abbott was a guest this week on Richard Hsu’s ABA award-winning podcast “HSU Untied.” Abbott discussed how his training in logic and policy analysis—a byproduct of his double major in Government and Mathematics—laid the foundation for his work as a tax lawyer. “It helps when looking at tax law to understand what the policy behind it is,” Abbott noted, because it’s important to “look at the rules but also try to understand what the rules are trying to do to” in order to ensure you are maximizing the help you can provide to clients.
