O’Melveny Partners Petrocelli, Marroso, Godesky, and Dugan Named to Billboard’s 2024 List of “Top Music Lawyers”

LOS ANGELES—April 4, 2024—O’Melveny partner and Trial Practice chair Daniel Petrocelli, partner and firmwide General Litigation Practice head David Marroso, and partners Leah Godesky and Terrence Dugan have been named to Billboard’s 2024 list of “Top Music Lawyers,” which honors “attorneys guiding superstars and industry-driving companies.”
Billboard highlighted the firm’s recent music industry achievements, including representing Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Kesha in her fight against a defamation lawsuit brought by Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, the producer she accused of sexual misconduct. In June 2023, the parties reached a confidential settlement. In the O’Melveny team’s award profile, Godesky said that the Kesha settlement was reached “just days after we secured a series of key pre-trial appellate wins for Kesha that seismically shifted the trial’s legal landscape.”
Billboard also noted O’Melveny’s representation of rap star Travis Scott, Global Music Rights, and Liberty SiriusXM Group.
