China Business Law Journal: O’Melveny Names New Managing Partner for Shanghai

O’Melveny announced that New York-based partner Portia Ku will succeed Walker Wallace as the new managing partner of the firm’s Shanghai office.
“With 25 years of experience in capital markets and M&A, Ku has advised numerous Chinese companies on their US and Hong Kong IPOs. She had represented Giant Interactive Group on its US$1 billion debut in New York in 2007 in the largest US Chinese private company listing that year. She specializes in advising industries such as life sciences, healthcare, green energy and fintech.” The publication also noted the firm’s expectation for M&A and private equity businesses to grow and expand following Ku’s return to Shanghai.
