Honolulu Civil Beat: State’s Legal Expenses For Maui Wildfires Topped US$6 Million

Hawaii reached a US$4 billion settlement this week with survivors from the Maui wildfires. O’Melveny was hired by the state as a member of its Climate Advisory Team to advise on policy efforts that include securing funding to mitigate disaster risks and impacts from climate change, as well as address issues stemming from the Maui wildfires.
