Law360: 9th Circ. Won’t Revive J2 Investor’s Suit Alleging Insider Deals

The Ninth Circuit unanimously upheld a district court’s decision that dismissed Jonathan Espy’s proposed securities fraud class action suit accusing J2 Global Inc. and its executives of violating sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Exchange Act. “We are grateful that the Ninth Circuit, like the District Court, recognized that these claims had no merit,” said appellees’ counsel Matthew Close.
