Legaltech News: O’Melveny & Myers’ New Partner Sees ‘Surprising Continuity' in US AI Regulation

O’Melveny announced on Monday that Reema Shah, former Deputy General Counsel for the US Department of Commerce and a leading authority on the US regulatory landscape for AI technology, has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in its Securities Litigation & Financial Services Practice Group and Artificial Intelligence Industry Group. Shah participated in a Q&A with Legaltech News to discuss her move. “In terms of what I'm hoping to accomplish, I come from government where I spent a lot of time focusing on federal litigation as well as federal regulations focused on the advanced technology sector and in particular artificial intelligence,” Shah said. “So now I'm hoping to build a practice where I advise companies across the technology sector, including the sort of leading-edge companies in the artificial intelligence space and help them navigate the uncertain regulatory environment that they're facing in the United States right now as well as across the globe.” Shah’s move to O’Melveny was also covered by Commercial Dispute Resolution.
