O’Melveny advised Alaska Airlines, which serves more than 120 destinations across the United States, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica and Mexico, on its definitive agreement to acquire Hawaiian Airlines, its biggest and longest-serving airline, for approximately US$1.9 billion in cash. The transaction was announced on December 3 and is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
