The criminal trial against former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, who is facing embezzlement charges, started this week. O’Melveny partner Rebecca Mermelstein, a former federal prosecutor, said that the prosecutors have two equally important goals when bringing this type of case, which include “proving the elements of the crime and creating a coherent, understandable, corroborated narrative for the jury.”
