FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YORK—JULY 18, 2018—O’Melveny lawyers across practices and offices have joined together on a pro bono basis to help launch the REPRESENT Global movement. Chaired by Nelson Mandela’s grandson Kweku, REPRESENT Global aims to make pressing issues in communities around the world relevant to the next generation.

Today, REPRESENT Global will kick off its international awareness campaign under the banner of #DANCELIKEMANDELA to celebrate the 100th birthday of Nelson Mandela. In New York, #DANCELIKEMANDELA will be featured today on the NASDAQ screen in Times Square, showcasing different artists crowdsourced through social media. Some 20 parties will take place over the next few days in New York, Washington, DC, Chicago, Joshua Tree, London, Lima, Berlin, Tunis, Canberra, Tehran, Budapest, Oelde, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Jerusalem, and others. Over the next year, some 100 parties in 100 cities are planned, all raising money or awareness about pressing issues in their respective communities. A final, special event will take place in South Africa in December.
