O’Melveny Advises WeWork on Acquisition of Waltz

SILICON VALLEY—July 2, 2019—O’Melveny represented WeWork in its acquisition of Waltz, a building access and security management company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Waltz has developed a mobile application and reader that makes it easy for employees and guests to securely enter buildings and offices. This technology is intended to help WeWork provide seamless access for its members across its spaces and locations around the world.

The Silicon Valley-based O’Melveny deal team was led by counsel Wenting Yu and included Emerging Technologies Group chair David Makarechian as well as lead associate AJ Talt. Also advising on the deal were O’Melveny senior counsel Warren Fox (on employee benefits matters), counsel Tom Oslovar (on Intellectual Property matters), special counsel Scott Pink (on data security and privacy matters) and partner Robert Fisher (on tax matters).
