O’Melveny Announces New Leadership Appointments

NEW YORK—July 08, 2024—O’Melveny announced today several new leadership appointments that showcase the talent and diversity of the firm’s partnership.
Partners have stepped into new roles as department heads, leaders of practice and industry groups, and managing partners for firm offices, among other appointments.

Pamela A. Miller and Steven J. Olson have been named co-chairs of O’Melveny’s Litigation Department, joining co-chair Richard B. Goetz, who will remain as co-chair through early 2025. Miller’s previous leadership experience includes serving as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, lead director of the firm’s Policy Committee, and co-chair of the firm’s Financial Services Practice Group; Olson previously served as co-chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations Practice Group and serves on the firm’s Policy Committee.
“Pam and Steve are among the most acclaimed and respected lawyers in their fields, and they epitomize the unwavering client-centric mindset that is so crucial to our firm’s long-term success,” Butwin noted. “I’m confident that Pam and Steve will help our industry-leading Litigation Department continue its vigorous growth and bolster our critical relationships with both longstanding and new clients.”
O’Melveny also announced the formation of a new Securities Litigation and Financial Services Practice Group, combining two powerhouse practices that share many common clients to better serve their complex needs. The new group will be co-chaired by Matthew W. Close and Meaghan VerGow. VerGow will also join the firm’s Management Team.
In addition, O’Melveny named six new practice and industry group leaders:
- Tracie Ingrasin, chair, Asset Management Practice Group
- Jim Bowman, co-chair, White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations Practice Group
- William K. Pao and Jonathan P. Schneller, co-heads, Artificial Intelligence Industry Group
- Jeff Hoffner and Jason Schumacher, co-heads, Energy Industry Group
O’Melveny appointed new leaders in two offices, with Garrett Johnston serving as the firm’s inaugural managing partner in Houston and Portia Ku serving as managing partner in Shanghai.
The firm also appointed Jeffrey E. Gordon as co-lead partner responsible for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at O’Melveny.
