O’Melveny Represents Atlanta Braves and SWB Investors on Sale of Four Minor League Baseball Teams

NEW YORK—March 15, 2022—In two back-to-back transactions, O’Melveny represented Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves on the sale of three of its minor league affiliates: the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers, the Double-A Mississippi Braves, and the High-A Rome Braves. O’Melveny also advised SWB Investors LLC on its sale of the New York Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.

Endeavor Group Holdings was the buyer in both transactions and issued its official press release here.

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders transaction closed on December 31, 2021, and the Gwinnett Stripers, Mississippi Braves, and Rome Braves transaction closed on January 31, 2022. In accordance with the acquisitions, Endeavor created a subsidiary—Diamond Baseball Holdings—that will operate nine minor league teams.
