FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOS ANGELES—June 24, 2024—O’Melveny announced today that a trio of experienced finance lawyers specializing in private credit transactions—Glen K. Lim, Brian S. Stern, and Daniel C. Tola—have joined the firm’s Los Angeles and Century City offices as partners in the Corporate Finance Practice.
Focusing on private credit transactions, Lim, Stern, and Tola have built a highly regarded practice representing some of the market’s most active non-bank lenders, with a principal focus on direct loans, acquisition financings for private equity and strategic acquirors, and subscription line financings. They also represent bank lenders and corporate borrowers in traditional corporate finance matters.
The trio come to O’Melveny from the Los Angeles and Century City offices of Katten, where they practiced together in that firm’s Commercial Finance Group. Their arrival accelerates O’Melveny’s continued strategic growth, with 17 lateral partners joining the firm in the past year—including nine corporate partners based in the firm’s Los Angeles, Century City, New York, and London offices. Their addition also bolsters O’Melveny’s rapidly expanding Corporate Finance Practice, which has grown from three to 15 partners in just five years.
“Continuing to expand our Corporate Finance Practice is a key priority for our firm, and we are delighted to welcome Glen, Brian, and Daniel to the team,” said O’Melveny chair Bradley J. Butwin. “They are tremendously talented, respected, and effective lawyers—and their collective private credit experience further enhances our ability to serve our clients in an area of increasing importance. It is a pleasure to welcome them to O’Melveny.”
Speaking for the group, Lim said: “We are excited to join O’Melveny and the firm’s successful Corporate Finance team, which serves a sophisticated client base, including large asset managers that have built significant private credit businesses. We were also impressed by the firm’s strengths in key complementary areas, and O’Melveny’s client-centric focus and collaborative culture align perfectly with our practice. We look forward to working with our new colleagues, continuing to serve our clients, and expanding our practice globally.”
