FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SILICON VALLEY—July 26, 2021—As part of its continued expansion in Northern California, O’Melveny announced today that leading Silicon Valley dealmaker Bradley L. Finkelstein has joined the firm.
Finkelstein, formerly a partner in Wilson Sonsini’s Silicon Valley and San Francisco offices, is one of the nation’s most accomplished and esteemed M&A lawyers. A boardroom-level advisor with more than 20 years of experience representing multinational technology and financial companies, he has particular expertise in public M&A transactions, negotiated and hostile deals, and securities law, corporate governance, and disclosure matters.
Finkelstein has advised leading companies on industry-shaping deals, including LinkedIn on its US$26 billion acquisition by Microsoft, Altera on its US$17 billion acquisition by Intel, Brocade Communications Systems on its US$5.5 billion acquisition by Broadcom, and Twitter on its resolution of an activist campaign launched by Elliott Management.
Finkelstein joins O’Melveny six weeks after technology partners Adit Khorana and Daniel Wu joined the firm in Silicon Valley and Century City, respectively.
“We’re committed to providing our technology clients with best-in-class counsel,” said Bradley J. Butwin, Chair of O’Melveny & Myers LLP. “Today, we’re again delivering on that commitment by bringing on Brad Finkelstein—one of the tech industry’s best-known and most accomplished public M&A advisors. We’re proud to welcome him aboard.”
“Brad Finkelstein is a brand name in Silicon Valley deal circles, and his sterling credentials and high-stakes experience will benefit our clients,” added Brophy Christensen, Co-Chair of O’Melveny’s Corporate Department. “He will advance our strategic objective of achieving market leadership in the technology sector.”
Finkelstein is also pro bono counsel and a member of the board of trustees of Fuse Corps, a national nonprofit that is working to expand social and economic opportunities, especially for communities that have been impacted by a history of systemic racism. And he is outside counsel to and a former board member of the Taproot Foundation, a national nonprofit that connects social-change organizations with skilled professionals who provide their services and expertise on a pro bono basis. He earned his B.A. in philosophy and history cum laude with highest thesis honors from Tufts University in 1993 and his J.D. from Columbia University in 1996. He served as judicial law clerk for the Honorable Paul R. Michel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
