O’Melveny Antitrust & Competition Lawyers Appointed to Leadership Roles
September 8, 2023
Three partners in O’Melveny’s Antitrust and Competition practice have been appointed to serve in prominent leadership positions with the American Bar Association Antitrust Law Section during its 2023-2024 term. The ABA Antitrust Law Section is an integral world leader in providing an important global nexus for competition, consumer protection, and data privacy professionals.
- Anna Pletcher: Vice Chair of the Trial Practice Committee
- Sergei Zaslavsky: Vice Chair of the Economics Committee
- Ian Simmons: Editor of the Section’s Antitrust Magazine - Print Edition
Anna Pletcher brings over a decade of impressive government experience as a litigator and first-chair trial lawyer. Before joining O’Melveny, she served as a Trial Attorney for the United States Department of Justice Antitrust Division, where she led significant prosecutions and investigations in a variety of complex criminal and civil cases. She also served as Assistant Chief of the Antitrust Division’s San Francisco Office.
Sergei Zaslavsky is a veteran of four federal trials and one arbitration hearing and a meticulous observer of his clients’ businesses—a skill that places him at the forefront of understanding how legal questions intersect with marketplace realities, enabling him to synthesize antitrust doctrine, economics, and facts into advocacy that is both rigorous and intuitive.
Ian Simmons has been lead counsel in more than 35 multi-district litigation (MDL) antitrust proceedings and has achieved precedent-setting results. With 31 years of experience in antitrust litigation, Ian is listed in Who’s Who Legal as a Commercial Litigation Global Leader and Competition Thought Leader and has been recognized for Antitrust by Chambers USA for nine years running. He is an alumnus of the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division and is co-chair of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Practice.
