O’Melveny Welcomes Veteran Technology Lawyers Nathaniel P. Gallon and Ashwin Gokhale in Northern California

SILICON VALLEY—July 13, 2022—O’Melveny announced today that veteran technology lawyers Nathaniel P. “Nate” Gallon and Ashwin Gokhale have joined the firm as partners based in Silicon Valley and San Francisco, respectively.
The addition of these Legal 500-rated partners accelerates O’Melveny’s rapid growth in the technology sector, a strategic priority for the firm. With their arrival, 10 technology-focused lateral partners have joined O’Melveny in the past year alone, including M&A partner Brad Finkelstein, Technology Transactions partner Adit Khorana, and Capital Markets partner Ryan Coombs, all in Northern California.
Gallon will serve in the firm’s M&A Practice and Emerging Technologies Group. With more than 20 years of experience in Silicon Valley, he brings a versatile skillset that includes representing acquirers and targets, venture-backed companies at all stages, venture capital firms, other investors, and major corporations. He has especially deep experience in the technology, life sciences, and fintech sectors. He is adept at leading M&A transactions while also working with entrepreneurs and venture capital investors to support start-ups through the full growth cycle.
Gallon comes to O’Melveny from Hogan Lovells LLP, where he served as Managing Partner of that firm’s Silicon Valley office. His arrival further strengthens O’Melveny’s growing roster of frontline mid-market M&A and technology-focused partners, particularly in the fast-growing and dynamic Silicon Valley market. Gallon has been recognized by The Legal 500 as a “leading lawyer” in the venture capital, emerging companies, and fintech arenas. In 2021, Lawdragon named him to its list of “500 Leading Dealmakers in America.”
Gokhale will serve in the firm’s Technology Transactions Group. With more than 16 years of experience in Northern California, his practice focuses on complex technology transactions and licensing. He is particularly skilled at leading IP licensing and commercial transactions for mature and emerging technology companies; advising on technology and IP aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and investments; and negotiating patent-litigation settlements. Gokhale advises clients across many tech sectors, including fintech, blockchain, energy, automotive, advertising, and digital media.
Gokhale comes to O’Melveny from the San Francisco office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, LLP. He has been recommended by The Legal 500 for his transactions work in media, technology and telecommunications. He was also named a technology transactions “Rising Star” by Northern California Super Lawyers.
