O’Melveny Participates in Election Protection Efforts
O’Melveny regularly participates in Election Protection, a program of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. The national, non-partisan Election Protection coalition works year-round to ensure that all voters have an equal opportunity to vote and have their votes counted.
Election Protection provides Americans with comprehensive information and assistance at all stages of voting, from registration to absentee and early voting, to casting a vote at the polls, to overcoming obstacles to participation. More than 80 O’Melveny lawyers volunteered for Election Protection in the 2022 election cycle, and more than 100 participated in the 2020 election cycle.
The firm also helped the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund monitor unfair and untrue social media postings that attempted to dissuade voters of color from voting. A team of O’Melveny attorneys worked with the Asian Law Caucus to monitor polling places to mitigate voter intimidation efforts and ensure access to polling stations for those with disabilities or language issues.
