Alexis M. Fasig is a litigation associate in O’Melveny’s Newport Beach office. Her diverse practice includes representing companies in complex civil litigation matters and high-stakes employment-related actions, including wage and hour class actions, discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful termination claims, as well as counseling employers on various labor and employment issues. Alexis represents a wide range of clients, including multinational retailers, financial institutions, airlines, universities, and entertainment companies.
In addition to her practice, Alexis dedicates significant time to pro bono advocacy, including representing clients in immigration matters, defending the right to vote, and advising non-profit companies on a variety of employment law matters, including layoffs, termination and discipline decisions, and compliance with wage and hour laws.
Alexis has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America as “One to Watch” two years in a row.
- Representing the Puerto Rico Fiscal Agency and Financial Advisory Authority in connection with the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico’s restructuring under Title III of the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act
- Representing federally chartered financial institution in qui tam case relating to loan modification and other loss mitigation programs
- Representing public university in multiple matters arising from the alleged sexual misconduct of the school’s former director of sports medicine, including a Title IX class action and lawsuit alleging wrongful termination of employment
- Representing Fortune 500 companies in class actions relating to discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and wage-and-hour violations
- Advising Fortune 500 companies on compliance with federal and state employment laws, drafting employee handbooks and employment agreements, and serving as an employment law specialist on transactions
- Defeating class certification and obtaining dismissal with prejudice of wage and hour class action brought by employees against an international airline alleging meal and rest break claims, overtime claims, and business expense claims under California law
- Prevailing on summary judgment motion in litigation against an airline brought by two former flight attendants alleging a litany of claims, including discrimination, retaliation, and harassment
