Catherine Ward is a litigation associate in O’Melveny’s Washington, DC office. Her practice focuses on defending clients across a variety of industries—particularly health care and technology—in high-stakes federal and state litigation, at both the trial and appellate stages. Her experience encompasses matters involving federal appeals, ERISA, and Attorney General actions and proceedings. She has assisted in briefing merits and amicus briefs before state and federal appellate courts, including multiple briefs before the United States Supreme Court. She also maintains a robust pro bono practice focused on constitutional issues and was honored by the Bar Association of DC as a Young Lawyer of the Year in 2025.
Prior to joining O’Melveny, Catherine completed judicial clerkships with the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the US District Court for the Western District of Virginia. She has also worked as a voluntary assistant editor for the Journal of Supreme Court History and as a law and policy researcher for the University of Virginia School of Law Education Rights Institute.
