Dan Wu represents emerging technology companies and the venture funds and strategic investors that finance such companies, from pre-incorporation planning to angel, seed, and growth rounds to exit transactions.

Dan has been working with emerging companies and investors for more than two decades in the Southern California ecosystem and serves as outside general counsel to many startups, growth-stage companies and venture funds.

Dan’s clients have been funded by investors such as a16z, Lux Capital, Battery Ventures, Upfront Ventures, MaC Venture Capital, Bain Capital, General Catalyst, Polygon Ventures, Mayfield Fund, Kleiner Perkins, First Round Capital, Lightspeed Ventures, Y-Combinator, 500 Startups, Idealab, Mucker, and TechStars.

Prior to re-joining O’Melveny, Dan was a partner at an Am Law 100 firm, where he served as Co-Chair of its Firmwide Diversity Committee. Dan previously worked as a partner at a Los Angeles-based full-service firm, as well as an attorney at two international law firms. He also worked in cross-border mergers and acquisitions at a global investment bank. Dan first joined O’Melveny as a summer associate and an associate upon graduating from law school.

Dan was selected to the 2020 Class of Fellows for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), which consists of more than 320 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession.
