  • Represent home furnishing company Z Gallerie in all aspects of its intellectual property, including defense of copyright infringement claims involving alleged copying of artwork and other designs
  • Represent national satellite radio broadcaster Sirius XM in series of high profile lawsuits concerning alleged performance rights in sound recordings made before 1972
  • Represented 18 record label plaintiffs in the seminal Internet file sharing litigation, A&M Records, Inc. v. Napster, and represented Sony and other motion picture studios in copyright infringement lawsuits against the Morpheus, Music City, Grokster, and Kazaa MP3 Internet file sharing networks
  • Represented Motown Records founder and visionary Berry Gordy in numerous legal matters and disputes, including the successful defense of royalty and other claims brought by former Motown songwriters and producers; the successful trial of malicious prosecution claims against those songwriters; and misappropriation of “name and likeness” claims relating to the film Dreamgirls
  • Represent boxing promoter Top Rank, Inc. in a number of breach of contract and other disputes
  • Represent nightlife and hotel management company SBE in a trademark infringement matter
  • Represented sporting and music entertainment presenter AEG Live in litigation opposing development of proposed Farmers Field NFL football stadium in downtown Los Angeles
  • Defended movie theater giant AMC Entertainment in a $200 million lawsuit brought by MovieTickets.com
  • Defended New Line Cinema motion picture studio against accounting, breach of contract, and other claims involving alleged participation in The Lord of the Rings motion pictures
  • Defended Sony and MGM motion picture studios in class action lawsuit involving claims concerning the labeling of DVD “bonus features” as closed captioned
  • Defended The Walt Disney Company in arbitration involving claims over participation rights to CSI: Crime Scene Investigation television series
  • Defended Fox Family television network against series of lawsuits by former music composer, resulting in published decision affirming that work-for-hire employees have no standing to sue for infringement as beneficial copyright owners, and an order declaring plaintiff a vexatious litigant
  • Represented Anchor Bay Entertainment in dispute over licensing rights to the Thomas & Friends children’s television series
  • Represented Hasbro, Inc. in contract dispute with Atari over Dungeons & Dragons
  • Defended Amylin Pharmaceuticals in sweeping complex litigation concerning groundbreaking insulin medication Byetta
  • Defended national real estate developer Lennar Corporation in a 12-month trial involving dispute over development of The Bridges residential community in Rancho Santa Fe, California
  • Represented and counseled Exxon in a variety of commercial litigation and tax-related matters
  • Defended prominent law firm against legal malpractice claims arising from dispute over Call of Duty home video game series
  • Defended Barnes & Noble in antitrust lawsuit involving unfair pricing claims which, after two weeks of trial, resulted in what the national press described as a "complete surrender" by the plaintiffs
  • Defended local performing theater company in pro bono copyright infringement matter
  • Obtained amnesty for Mexican national in Ninth Circuit pro bono case
