Emily Losi is a corporate associate at O’Melveny, where she provides strategic business counsel and transactional support to a broad range of clients across industries, from large public companies to startups. She regularly drafts and negotiates complex commercial agreements and advises clients on a variety of technology- and data-driven transactions, including the development, licensing, distribution, monetization, and other exploitation of software, data, and IP assets.

Emily holds a CIPP/US certification by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She regularly leverages her knowledge of US and international laws and regulations governing data privacy and cybersecurity to advise clients on compliance obligations and implement organizational measures, including updating privacy policies, drafting internal data security policies, addressing cybersecurity breaches and completing data protection impact assessments. She has written and presented on topics addressing expanding data privacy and cybersecurity laws and regulations and their impact on institutional privacy programs.

Prior to joining O’Melveny, Emily was an associate in the technology and IP transactions group of a leading international law firm, where she advised clients on a range of strategic, intellectual property, and technology-driven transactions.

  • Advise Hyundai Motor Company on its multi-year, strategic partnership with Waymo in connection with the integration of Waymo’s fully autonomous technology into Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 SUV
  • Represented Broadcom, Inc. on the sale of its End-User Computing Division to KKR, a leading global investment firm, for US$4 billion
  • Advised Samsung Electronics on its agreement to form a joint venture with Lennox to sell ductless HVAC systems in the United States and Canada
  • Provided transactional assistance to Liberty Media Corporation relating to its definitive agreement to acquire more than 90% of QuintEvents, a global provider of official ticket, hospitality, and travel experiences to many of the world’s most prominent sports and entertainment events
