Lorena Ortega is a staff attorney in O’Melveny’s Los Angeles Office and a member of the Litigation Department. Her practice focuses on e-Discovery and complex litigation discovery. Lorena has experience managing large teams of attorneys in processing, reviewing and producing millions of documents for fraud investigation and complex litigation cases including securities, class and mass tort actions involving product liability claims, multi-district litigation, consumer class actions, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, intellectual property, insider trading, and antitrust matters. Lorena has extensive experience in preparing budgets and drafting review protocols for document review projects. She has coordinated the work of various service providers and technology-assisted review vendors. She is proficient in a broad range of e-Discovery hosting and review tools including, Clearwell, CTEC, iConect, Concordance, Attenex, Applied Discovery, Xerox, Catalyst, Discovery Partner, Recommind, Kroll Ontrack, Stroz Friedberg, and Relativity.

Lorena’s experience in the area of privilege review has made her a principal attorney in the review of potentially privileged documents for a package pick-up and delivery company involved in dozens of employment related class and individual actions in federal and state courts. In addition, her deep understanding and vast knowledge of all things e-Discovery has made her an integral member of the team responsible for handling discovery for one of the nation’s oldest and largest food companies in consumer class actions.
