Matthew Kaiser is an experienced litigator who helps clients navigate sensitive, high-stakes litigation at both the trial and appellate level. Matthew has extensive experience defending pharmaceutical companies, consumer products manufacturers, and media companies in lawsuits, class actions, and state Attorney General investigations alleging harms from their products and services.

He thrives on matters involving complicated technical issues—such as statistics, economics, and medicine—where he effectively translates those difficult issues into simple points that resonate with the factfinder. Matthew also advises clients on strategies for protecting their interests and reputations in the court of public opinion. In every case, he works with colleagues to develop legal strategies that limit or eliminate his clients’ exposure.

In addition to his regular practice, Matthew sits on the Board of Advisors of Equality California—the nation’s largest nonprofit LGBTQ+ civil rights organization. He also helps pro bono clients avoid removal through Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and asylum for unaccompanied minors under the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act and Convention Against Torture.
