Michael Klotz is a litigator focused on complex commercial litigation involving financial products, contract disputes, allegations of tortious conduct, and statutory claims. He has experience with federal and state multi-district litigation, federal and state appeals, regulatory proceedings, and American Arbitration Association (AAA), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services (JAMS) proceedings. Michael has significant experience defending putative class action lawsuits under federal statutes including the TCPA, the FCRA, the Sherman Act, and the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934. He served as lead counsel for a credit reporting agency in more than three dozen federal lawsuits brought under the FCRA through all phases of the litigation.
Michael is committed to pro bono legal service and has represented individuals petitioning for asylum, seeking child custody or child support, and suing for civil rights violations under 42 U.S.C. § 1983.
Prior to attending law school, Michael received a Ph.D. in English Literature from Cornell University and he taught English literature and writing courses at Wake Forest University.
Before joining O’Melveny, Michael was an associate in the New York office of another international law firm for more than six years.
