O’Melveny Worldwide

Noah B. Bokat-Lindell is an accomplished appellate litigator who represents clients in high-stakes matters before federal appellate courts and the US Supreme Court. Noah’s work includes both party and amicus representations, and he is frequently called upon to advise on appellate strategy, draft briefs, and present oral arguments.

Noah is also deeply committed to pro bono service, particularly efforts that defend and preserve voting rights and other civil rights.

Prior to joining O’Melveny, Noah was an attorney in the Appellate Section, Civil Rights Division of the US Department of Justice. Highlights of his tenure include his work on Allen v. Milligan, in which the Supreme Court upheld Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, as well as cases that led to first-in-the-nation appellate rulings on the application of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act to employer retaliation and the scope of municipal liability under the Fair Housing Act. Noah also previously worked at another law firm and an election law organization, both in Washington, DC. In his prior positions, he drafted over sixty briefs and dispositive motions and presented thirteen oral arguments in the US Courts of Appeals for the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Seventh, Ninth, Eleventh, and District of Columbia Circuits.

Noah is a former judicial clerk to the Honorable Robert A. Katzmann of the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Honorable John D. Bates of the US District Court for the District of Columbia. Noah graduated from Yale Law School, where he co-directed its Supreme Court Advocacy Clinic and co-founded its Political Law Society.
