Sam Weiss is a litigation counsel in O’Melveny’s New York office. As part of his practice, Sam represents clients in both domestic and international insurance coverage matters, including energy, power, and mining losses, COVID-19, and coverage issues arising from CAT losses (including the 2020 US civil unrest, and weather-related catastrophes).
Sam has defended insurance companies in all stages of coverage actions, from providing pre-litigation counseling to arguing appeals. Sam has also been the primary drafter of several successful dispositive motions. In addition to his litigation experience, Sam has significant arbitration experience.
Sam has a strong record of committing to pro bono matters and providing community service. Outside of O’Melveny, he volunteers with various community organizations in his hometown on Long Island.
